At Exist in Utrecht, women of all levels are welcome to join our kickboxing training classes. Our gym provides an accessible, inclusive and respectful environment where women feel safe and challenged. While we do not offer separate ladies-only classes, our experienced trainers provide an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable - whether you are putting on a boxing glove for the first time or have years of experience.

Together, men and women at Exist train on technique, strength and conditioning, with room for personal growth and development.

At Exist, respect is key. Our trainers create a positive atmosphere where everyone - male or female - feels welcome. No favoritism, just focus on technique, discipline and fun.

Beginners are always welcome

Never kickboxed before? We have especially for you:

  • Kickboxing beginners training: calm, clear classes where you learn the basics at your pace.

  • Boxing bag workouts: ideal for beginners who want to work on technique and fitness. During these trainings you often work with a partner to learn techniques safely and prevent injuries. There is sometimes physical contact when we practice the combinations on the boxing gloves, but no sparring.

You don't need experience or fitness to start. We will guide you step by step.

At Exist we offer mixed classes in which the same safety, peace and respect are key. What can you expect during kickboxing training?

Training for every level

We offer several training programs that are also great for women:

  • Kickboxing beginners: for those just starting out, workouts with a focus on basic techniques.

  • Kickboxing all levels: mixed group with participants of all levels with focus on technique. During this training there will also be sparring, but always in a respectful and controlled manner - safety comes first.

  • Boxing bag training: focusing on technique, endurance and strength. You regularly work with a partner to properly teach punching and kicking techniques both on the punching bag and on the gloves (pads). There is light physical contact while practicing combinations on the gloves, but no sparring. The workout on the punching bag is intense and focuses on developing strength, conditioning and technique.

Partner work: training together, on your terms

We often work with partners - these can be men or women - but you can always specify who you train with. You are never pressured to do exercises that don't feel right.

Always adapted to your level

Frequently asked questions by women about kickboxing

  • Definitely not. Our focus is on technique, fitness and respect. Kickboxing at Exist is an athletic challenge, not an aggressive fight.

  • No. You don't need a basic level - anyone can start, regardless of strength or fitness. You build it up gradually.

  • No, you build fitness during the workouts. Everyone can get in at his or her own level.

  • Sparring only occurs during kickboxing all levels training on Thursdays, beginner training on Tuesdays and open mat on Sundays. Sparring is always voluntary. Sparring is done in a respectful and controlled manner. You decide if you want to participate. If you don't want to spar then join the kickboxing beginners training on Thursdays or one of the boxing bag trainings.

  • Wear comfortable sportswear with no sharp elements. Training is barefoot. During your trial class, you can borrow boxing gloves. Also bring slippers for off the mat and a bottle of water.
